Smoke control areas don't have to mean giving up a wood-burning stove — the Schiedel SG3 (Sargas 3) is a DEFRA exempt stove with an angular, contemporary silhouette and side viewing panels that open up an even wider view of the flames than the standard SG1.
Ideal for smoke control area homes and perfect for self-build stove installations, the SG3 pairs genuine German engineering with UK-ready compliance.
Manufactured to Schiedel's exacting German standard, the SG3 delivers strong 81% efficiency with genuinely low emissions, backed by an A+ energy rating. The side viewing panels give you a noticeably wider view of the fire than the standard model, while a self-closing door adds a genuine safety margin and adjustable legs let you level the stove on uneven floors.
Please note this listing is for the stove only — chimney and flue components are sold separately, and we offer a free chimney design service to help you choose the right system for your installation. Paired with a genuine Schiedel chimney system, the SG3 comes with a market-leading 10-year warranty.
Can I install this stove in a smoke control area?
Yes — the SG3 is a DEFRA approved / exempt appliance, EcoDesign compliant and ClearSkies Level 5 certified, so it's safe to burn wood in UK smoke control areas.
Do I need to buy the chimney separately?
Yes — this listing covers the stove only. Chimney and flue components are sold separately, and our free chimney design service can help you choose the right system for your home.
