The 4-Person Larch Wooden Hot Tub arrives fully assembled and ready for immediate use — no foundation, no groundwork, no waiting on a professional install. It's our most popular tub for a reason: it's sized right for a family soak, but compact enough to fit in an average garden and easy enough to relocate if you rearrange the space later.
The barrel is built from highly ecological larch wood sourced from Siberia, a material prized in outdoor spa construction for its natural density and resistance to rot. Hand-finished joints and ready-made benches give the interior a considered, premium feel rather than a flat-pack one.
Heat comes from a genuine Ignis-V40 aluminium external heater, available at 40kW or 50kW, bringing the water up to a comfortable 38°C in around 2–4 hours. Because the furnace sits outside the tub rather than inside it, you get more usable soaking space for the same 4.92ft diameter, and the stove itself is simpler to load and maintain. The aluminium build is specifically chosen to resist corrosion, so it keeps performing season after season rather than degrading after a winter or two outdoors.
How long does the water take to heat up?
With the external Ignis-V40 heater running, water reaches around 38°C in roughly 2 to 4 hours, depending on conditions.
Do I need to build a base or get planning permission first?
No foundation or bulky groundwork is needed — the tub is supplied fully assembled and can be placed on any suitable level surface. As with any outdoor structure, check local planning rules if you're placing it close to a boundary.
